Letter from the Chairman
The Hispanic Contractors Association de Tejas is organizing a Construction Safety and Health Summit on September 16, 2011, from 8:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. at the Mesquite Convention Center Hampton Inn & Suites in Mesquite, Texas. We would be honored to have you attend this exciting event.
Our goals for the Summit are simple, but bold: to highlight the creative training programs developed since the inaugural DOL’s Hispanic Safety and Health Summit held in July 2004, present a comparison of injury and fatality statistics from 2003 to 2009 and, by doing so, emphasize the need for a continued cooperative working relationship between OSHA and private contractors at the regional and national levels.
The theme of the Summit will be “To Save One Life.” We anticipate that findings, conclusions and action plans resulting from our Summit will instigate other similar types of events across the United States and will contribute directly to a National Construction Safety and Health Summit we hope to host in Texas in June 2012.
Sincerely,

Javier Arias
Chairman, Hispanic Contractors Association de Tejas
Summit Coordinating Committee Member
